FlipFox Privacy Policy

FlipFox is a personal vocabulary trainer. It does not require an account and does not use advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking.
Data stored on your device
Your words, translations, notes, categories, study sessions, settings, and learning progress are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you delete them in FlipFox Settings or uninstall the app. Exporting a backup happens only when you request it and choose where to share the resulting JSON file.
Translation requests
When you request a translation, the text you enter and your selected study language are sent to the FlipFox backend hosted by Vercel and then to DeepL to produce translation suggestions. FlipFox does not associate this request with an account. Translation results may be kept in temporary server memory for up to 24 hours to reduce repeated requests.
YouTube Vocabulary
When you choose to analyze a video, the YouTube URL and selected study language are sent to the FlipFox backend. The backend communicates with YouTube to retrieve available video information and captions and returns vocabulary results to the app. FlipFox does not save the submitted URL in a user database.
Service providers and technical data
Vercel, DeepL, and YouTube process data needed to provide the network features described above. They may also process technical request information, such as IP addresses and server logs, under their own privacy policies and retention practices.
Your choices and deletion
Translation and YouTube Vocabulary run only after you take an explicit action. You may use the rest of FlipFox without these features. You can export, reset, or delete all locally stored data from Settings. Because FlipFox has no user accounts or cloud profiles, there is no server account to delete.
Children
FlipFox is a general-audience educational app and is not specifically directed to children. It does not knowingly collect names, contact details, precise locations, photos, or advertising identifiers.
Changes
This policy may be updated when FlipFox or its service providers change. The current effective date is shown at the top of this page.

При анализе видео ссылка YouTube передаётся серверу FlipFox, который обращается к YouTube. Аккаунтов, рекламы, аналитики и отслеживания нет. Локальные данные можно экспортировать или полностью удалить в настройках.
